I see there is no date of departure for the bark Henrik Wergeland. It sailed from Risør April 19, 1853 according to a letter Anders Svenumsen Byholt sent to his family on the farm Byholt in Gjerstad, Aust-Agder October 9, 1853. See Fra Amerika til Norge I, 83.
The letter gives an account of the voyage, including a fire in the galley, and of the further journey from Quebec via Chicago and Milwaukee to Stoughton, Dane County, Wisconsin. |
