Hi to all, I'm so glad You, The Mountain, (This Forum) are here for all of us who speak, read and write [or try to] English.
I started off with a big fat 0 ["Zero"], absolutely nothing. Finally some years ago now, a kindly Lady in a Forum, gave me a long list of Aussie Queensland Pioneers. I was then, finally, able to nail right down my Aussie Queensland Olsen Grandmom Emma Jane Olsen's Christian Names [Forenames] that were prior not known or discussed, plus My Blood Olsen Granddad, Anton Olsen [Anthon Andreasen]. In the Christmas New Year time frame on or about the 8th of January 2008 a Wedding Certificate, finally yeilded up Decades of well kept from me and My Beloved Family [it's almost now 60 years for me], Secrets.
* I finally, had a Place, Tonsberg, Norway.
* I had a Great Grandad, Matros Andreas Olsen.
* I had a Great Grandmom Anne Helene Christiandatter.
Then all Hell broke loose, I haven't been the same since, and the rest was Family Genealogy Research History !
My Olsen Family are recorded in the 1865 0705 Tønsberg Telling here:
Listenr Gardnr Gate Kjøpstad Gardseigar 91 91 70a Kongegaden Tønsberg Lars Abrahamsen
My OLSEN FAMILY...
1186 7 1 Andreas Olsen hf Matros g 36 m Stokke Pr.
1187 8 Anne Christiansen Hans Kone g 36 k Sems Pr Helene
1188 9 Johan Andreasen* Deres Søn ug 13 m Stokke Pr.
1189 10 Jacob Andreasen* Deres Søn ug 11 m Stokke Pr.
1190 11 Kristine Andreasdatter* Deres Datter ug 6 k Tønsberg
1191 12 Marie Andreasdatter* Deres Datter ug 3 k Tønsberg
1192 13 Anthon Andreasen* Deres ug 1 m Tønsberg
Note the Youngest being Anthon Andreasen, He is the only one "currently known" to have Migrated. He migrated to the State of Queensland Australia, Married in charters Towers and finally moved to the booming Gold Rush Town of Ravenswood, Queensland Australia. Nothing whatsoever is know of the rest of His Family or Ancestors, and their movements.
It's possible, My Great Grandmom's Blood Dad may have been Christian Christiansen. Sadly for me a lot of the Entries in the Online Digital Records, are past my ability to read, or understand.
Where I do think I need help, is in making further Family and Relatives Connections with and to the Olsens in the 1865-telling for 0705 Tønsberg, Norway.
Next I need to help to find any relivant Birth, Christening, Death, Marriage, Innoculation, Migration or Movements, if I haven't nailed them down already, or anything else involving :
Johan Andreasen
Jacob Andreasen
Kristine Andreasdatter
Marie Andreasdatter
Anthon Andreasen
Andreas Olsen [Matros]
Anne Helene Christiansen
A further possible may be, help to establish any earlier, or later Siblings not in the 1865-telling for 0705 Tønsberg, Norway.
There are a range of matters, involving the Names of Others, Places, and Farms, mentioned in the Supplied Image Links , by a Member of our Forum . Please see His Later Topic Replys to this Topic, down below. Any help in translating any of the Old Lutheran Writing Scripts in the Links in the Replys to this Topic Post, further down your Web Browser Window, would be a very great help.
It is a known Norway Genealogy Fact, that the People from Norway, with their Migrations to other Nations, had the Blood Dad, quite often go first, then with an improved Cash flow, post Migration, He sent for His Wife and Siblings, some times not necessarily, all at once. The Money not just for the Payment of their Passage, but being able to support His Family on a New Nation was sometimes slowing the process down, or so the Experts tell us !
Also, Thank You for reading My Topic Post.
If you can help, I would love to hear from you, so, Please Do Post a Reply, to this Topic Post, Thank You in Advance.
Kind Regards to All, Ted |

Your Andreas Olsen is most likely #107 he was born Sept 9 1830 and his parents were Ole Andersen, Asch and his wife Maren Lovise Andersdatter. Andreas Olsens wife Anne Hellene Christiansdatter is most likely #88 she was born Oct 25 1830 and her parents were Christian Ingebrethsen and Olea Olsdatter at Olserød. This should be confirmed by looking up Andreas and Anne Hellenes marriage record. Christine Andreasdatters baptismal record is #52 she was born March 23 1860. Marie Andreasdatter was a twin, she and her sister wa born March 27 1863, see #39&40 since Olufine is not in the 1865 census she has most likely died. Anthon was born Aug 10 1865, see #142 Mariage record for his parents not found yet.

Found the marriage record. It shows that Andreas Olsen was a widower and the age in the 1865 census is wrong, see #35 Andreas and Anne Helene were married in Tønsberg Dec 27 1859. Andreas was born in Stokke Aug 23 1825 and his father was Ole Olsen Brua. Anne Helene was born in Sem Oct 25 1830 and her father was Christian Ingebretsen. Andreas Olsens baptismal record is #67 his parents were Ole Olsen and Ragne Andersdatter at Brua under Wahr. Andreas Olsen moved into Tønsberg as a widower in the summer of 1859, see records #51-54 he came with 3 children, Lovise Regine born May 11 1848, Anders Bernhard born Aug 20 1851 and Johan Petter born Sept 27 1853. Baptismal record for Lovise Regine is #40 her mother was Bergithe Olsdatter and the family was living at Kongsteen. the record for Anders Bernhard is #77 the family now was living at Stavrum. The record for Johan Peter is #104 The marriage record for Andreas and Bergithe is #21

Andreas Olsen had a brother Johan Petter born Sept 22 1821, see #63 Anne Helenes parents were married in Vaale May 21 1822, see #13 Christian Ingebretsen was 24 years old and came from Waale in Ramnæs and Olea Olsdatter 26 years and came from Brekke. Christian Ingebretsen was baptized April 29 1798, see #34 his parents were Ingebret Nielsen and Maria Nielsdatter on Fodens-Eiet. No futher info on Olea Olsdatter available at the moment. |

Hello, Forum Members and Guests,
Re your reply...
quote: Andreas was born in Stokke Aug 23 1825 and his father was Ole Olsen Brua.
Re : Ole Olsen Brua, is the Brua on the end assumed as part of the Family Name Olsen, possibly if written it might be hyphenated aka,,,,Ole Olsen-Brua
Or.....
If in writing about or recording, in Text, about Ole, pursuant to the correct form of Norway Traditions, would Brua always be added to the end of the Name String ?
Would there be a difference in writing His Name if "not" living in Norway, for instance in my case ?
What I think I'm trying to ask here is several questions in one, but based on "if" Brua, is only the Village or Area, where He was Born, rather than the Farm Name !
If my memory serves me at all well, months ago, i think I found out, there was more than one "Brua", in Norway, one may have been in Vestfold, are we talking Brua Vestfold or Brua somewhere else, in Norway. I think the county starts with a "H", I know i found it on a Map after Hours of trying to find Brua Norway and Norway Brua, with Yahoo Dot com Searches !
Months ago, I looked at that Entry # 21, time after time again, and thought no !, NO !, NO ! that is "NOT" My Matros Andreas Olsen !
RE (MATROS} ANDREAS OLSEN BEING A WIDOWER....
So there must have been a Word in the Norway Language in the Entry # 35 for "Widower", could you Please, give me its Spelling, or where it is normally found in the words String, I'll add it to my "Look Out For" Word List, Thanks.
I had Brua and Sem worked out, but I think I've seen it spelt Semm, somewhere as well, relating to Norway. I will have a good look at your Reply Post, and the Images, and I might have to get back to you again, some what later..
Thank you so very, very, much for Your Absolutely Excellent First class Help. I do not think I have seen better help in any other Genealogy Forum, world wide !
Kind Regards, Ted.

quote: the reference to Olser?d, comes up as a ? in the Name in my Browser
yes the ? should have been an o with a slash – or you can write oe – it is a farm name understand it as Oles clearing.
quote: I do note that both Male Parents have the Forename Christian # 88 and # 14, is there some other data or evidence by way of a mention in some other Document I've missed that points absolutely to # 88 being My Anne Helene Christiansdatter.
The marriage record is the evidence, there it is stated that Anne Helens father was Christian Ingebretsen, the father of #14 is Christian Christensen. Anthon = Anton, witnesses at his baptism were the mother and maiden Sara Sandersdatter, Servant Anders Eriksen, Seaman Mathias Svendsen and lumberer Mathias Andersen. I don’t see any of them as family members, often they are.
quote: Re : Ole Olsen Brua, is the Brua on the end assumed as part of the Family Name Olsen, possibly if written it might be hyphenated aka,,,,Ole Olsen-Brua
Brua is the name of the farm, since there may be many Ole Olsen in an area the farm name was often added to indicate which of them it was. Brua can be translated “the bridge” – the other one you may have seen could be in Hole, Buskerud.
The marriage record reads Enkemand og Matros Andreas Olsen Stavrum “Widower and seaman Andreas Olsen Stavrum”
Regarding the “Marie Olsen” it was, and is a very common name to help here would not be easy.

You need more assistance and guidance than will probably be available from other amateur genealogists who might take brief time to "lend a hand" but who do NOT have the time or the capability to help you with your entire family history project or search for other connections.
You should consider hiring a professional genealogist. Your project needs more than casual help from kind strangers.
You might be able to locate a suitable professional service with expertise in Norwegian genealogical research in the listing linked below - http://www.cyndislist.com/norway.htm#Professional |

Hopkins is right Ted. All the information on your ancestors you have shared with us is overwhelming and impressing. As an amateur in genealogy I am sorry to say it would take most of my spare time to help you.
Sincerely, Kåre |

Hello there I have just discovered this forum and was intrigued by your information, Ted. My grandparents were Anthon Olsen and Emma Jane Richards and I thought that I knew all of my relatives, maybe not. I am struggling with following the family in Norway too. Would like to find out how we are connected.
