In the 1900 Census in Norway, Jonas Olson Tjaaland (born 1863 in Time, Rogaland) and his wife Karen Monson (born 1857 in Høyland, Rogaland) lived in Stavanger.

They went to America a few years later, but I can´t find them in the emigration records, and I don´t know where they lived.

Jonas died 1915 and Karen in 1927, but I don´t know where.

Is there anyone who can find information about them ?

Did they have children that emigrated with them? Names and ages?

There was a Norwegian family who came to US about 1906 who lived in Roland, Story County, Iowa for the 1910 US census; Jonas and Karen Olson with children Sverre, Jonas Jr., Sigrid and Clara.

The emigration records from Stavanger has no year for the emigration. Jonas "Heimstad" recidence was Time, she was from Høyland.
Isn´t Time in todays Bryne?
Have you searched the church records for Stavanger?
Many records to investigate.

Jonas was born March 7 1863, see #31 he was 3 years old in the census 1865
Jonas married Ingeborg Laurentze Axelsdatter Febr 19 1887, see #1.
From the census in Stavanger 1900 Jonas is married to his 2nd wife Karen, the two children are not born in Norway and Karen is obviously not their mother.
Jonas is recorded under 16918 when he emigrated, most likely in 1888. the following number 16919 is most likely for his wife since Høyland is recorded as home place. In the note is stated that Jonas return to Norway after some years in the US.
Jonas Olsen TjÅland is also recorded as an emigrant, no year but his second wife Maren Monsdatter is noted as well as his death date Sept 3 1915, see 26381
Karen Monsdatter was born Sept 11 1857, see #86 her parents were Mons Iversen and Jorine Tjølsdatter at Øvre Haaland. Karen and her parents and siblings in 1865
Mons Iversen was born Sept 15 1816, see 3rd male on right page. His parents were Iver Iversen and Malli Monsdatter.
Jorine Tjølsdatter was born April 1 1828, see #33 her parents were Tjøl Tjølsen and Kristine Aadnesdatter.
Jonas Tjaaland, factory worker died at Haugvaldstadgade 25 in Stavanger, see #58
Karen Tjåland f. Monsen died Sept 24 1927 from same place as Jonas, see #60

They must have lived in Brooklyn, New York, but returned to Norway before the 1900 cenus. Their daughter Marie is born in Brooklyn, and in 1916, she went (back) to Brooklyn, and to her uncle Christian Olsen on 58th street in Brooklyn.
Marie Olsen Tjaaland (25) arrived New York on The Bergensfjord on June 18th 1916, departuring Stavanger.

Closest relative is listed as aunt Margrethe Tjaaland, Kannikgt. 7, Stavanger. Her occupation is hairdresser.
She was travelling with Gudrun Constance Thorkildsen (21), also a hairdresser. Her father was Gabriel Thorkildsen, Sandnes. Gudrun's final destination was uncle Harry Hansen in Brooklyn.

The 1920-census for Brooklyn, Kings, New York show 2 persons who could be her uncle, ie. a brother of Jonas Olsen Tjaaland:
Christian Olsen b. 1864, Norway, imm 1888
Catherine Olsen b. 1868, Norway, imm 1888
Children:
Arthur Olsen, 1896
Louis Olsen, 1897
Lillian Olsen, 1899
Olga Olsen, 1901
Anna Olsen, 1904
Ralph Olsen, 1906
Oscar Olsen, 1908

Christian Olsen b. 1865, Norway, imm 1905
Hannah Olsen, b. 1872, Norway, imm 1905
Children:
Hilda Olsen, 1896, imm 1905
Alfred Olsen, 1904, born in Norway, imm 1905

Thank you for all this info about Jonas and Karen ! I didn´t know that they came back to Norway and died here. I was told that Karen didn´t have any children of her own and that she lived in New York.
