I have searced the probate register for Sunhordland, includes Etne , I did find two probates for Kristen Kristensen Støle and a one for Kristen Rasmussen Haaland in Etne for 1712 (the last is only a wild guess).
Same information here about 47 mm down, no information on his father Kristen.
Guess you know that Studla, Stødle, Støle was one of the most well-known/famous farms in the history of Norway mentioned both in the viking- and middle age?

You already checked the books of "Etne-soga", 5 volumes by Ståle Dyrvik? |

One place to start is the online 'Personregister for Etne-soga. Perhaps you can find your Kristen Kristensson in the list and thus determine which volume you need and what page to look.
Click on this link to reach the register: http://www.hist.uib.no/nhd/etne/persreg.htm |

If you live close to a library such as Stavanger, they will likely have copies of the books that you can use at their facility. If you do not live close to a library, many will copy parts of the Bygdebok if you know what part you want to have copied, see register above. Click on the following link to search the Stavanger Bibliotek. search under Etne-soga or Dryvik, Ståle.

My mistake also, I assumed you might live near a large Norwegian city with a library, ie Stavanger. I will try to find you a library closer to Iowa. |

Dont be sorry, we are all amateur´s here. I thought perhaps you was a Norskamerikaner returned back to Norway.
Kristens father was Kristen, Guros father was Niels, they both died 1763, lived on Kambe as lease-holders from 1740-48 and then moved to Stødle. Stødle was several farms, could be they settled down on Krono.
A proposal: First born son was Osmund born 1732, died s. y., according traditonal naming in Norway Kristen Kristensen´s father was Kristen Osmundsen.

Aasmund was baptized Aug 17 1732, see last bapt. record on right page - another record show witnesses: Capitain Aam, Segiant Hans Hansen, etc. Aasmund was burried Sept 14 1732. A new Aasmund was baptized Nov 1 1838, see 1st bapt. record on left page
