One way that can be used to determine if that Tom E Holt is your family is to follow the children. Osmund being a rather unique name lends itself to that. The Iowa State Census dated 1 Jan 1925 lists an Osmund Holt, age 50 ie born 1875 for Boone County Iowa. His father is listed as T E Holt and mother as Celia Rodne. Father is born in Norway abt 1848 and mother born in Norway. No wife listed, has three children living with him, Marvel, Ora and Thomas. Also living with them is his sister Amanda age 34 ie born in 1891.

The 1920 US Census lists Osmund as a widower with the same famly with the son listed as Thomas E, same name as his grandfather, plus older daughter, Thelma and another sister listed here as Marie A age 43? born in Norway.

Going back in time we can pick up his wife's name. The 1910 US Census lists an Osmund Holt and wife Elizabeth living in Clinton Iowa along with children Thelma, Marvel, Ora and Florence.

I think the 1900 census, Story, Iowa is correct.
Tom E (Eriksen) Holt age 51 and Selia age 52 , they had 4 children born in norway, oldest son was Osmund T (Torgersen) Holt age 25, he was born on Holthe Oct. 1874 to carpenter Torger Eriksen Holthe age 26 and Cesilla Osmundsdatter age 27, they married 1871 in Vikedal, #40

Anna age 22 was born on Holthe Oct. 4. 1877, born to carpenter Torger Eriksen and Cecilia Osmundsdatter Holthe, #37

Theodora age 19 was born Oct. 10, 1880, baptised Thodora Wilhelmine, parents Carpenter Torger Eriksen and Cesilie Osmundsdatter Holthe #37

HI Deb, I know it can take some time to classify all the names, apperas confusing until you find the thread.
These folks we have been working with on page 4 and 4 are ancestors after Hans Christensen Kambe born 1746, 4 of his offspring, 4 siblings born about 1850 on farm Holte in Vikedal, last name Osmundsen, emigrated in the1880s to USA, one of the siblings, Cesilia Osmundsadtter maried Torger Eriksen Holt and settled down in Iowa, 8 children, 4 of them born in Norway, 3 of them, Osmund, Anna and Theodora were born in Vikedal, youngest son Edvard age 14 in the 1900 census for Iowa is missing.
Still miss the emigration record.
