Perfect! Thank you. How do you find these so quickly?

If you're beyond polyglot, does that make you a glottoglut?

I have a fair knowledge of the language, the country and norwegian names, besides as a retired person I see it as a challenge to get results from my investigations.

Is there any chance you can find where Bernt Tallacksen was buried? What resources are the best for searching?

Einar, I had already questioned your research for Reier Tallacksen, and you were able to figure out the right records for him. I hope I don't sound impertinent questioning his wife Maren now, too.

I found a death record for Karen Børrisdtr., wife of Glarmester Tallaksen, #189 in the Ministerialbok and the Klokkerbok.
Looking again at their marriage record that you found, I could see how the handwriting might've been Karen, though it does look more like Maren.
The birth and census records you found before would make this Karen/Maren to be age 65 when she died in 1857, but these list her at age 77. I'm looking for a birth/baptism record in Christiansand around 1780, but it might take me a while to find. (It *only* requires searching 82 pages to cover 1780 +/- 1 year.) Do you have any expert thoughts on this? Did I miss anything important?

Also, I have several records for Reier and Karen/Maren having children (3 births, 1 death), and all those records are very clearly spelled "Maren".

Searching for her confirmation record might be quicker since the records are usually only lists of names and ages and divided by sex, 1795+/- 5 years, might snag her.

It looks like Kristiansand didn't record confirmands until 1812.
Thanks for that advice though, generally. I haven't collected the confirmation documents for the family yet, because I thought it would be too laborious a search, but you make it sound easier than birth/baptism records, so I'll get started on that.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the same Berent Tobias Tallacksen I'm trying to find, based on the dates and location.

Still, thank you very much for the website I can search through, amyanderson75.
