Lydia, her parents and siblings in 1865
Similar for Nils Martin in 1865
If you can get a scanned copy of the letter on this site i'll do my best for the translation.

Nils Martin was born Febr 5 1861 and baptized May 5, see #19 his parents Ole Andersen, Knudlid and Elen Nicolaisdatter.
Lydia Marie was born Oct 7 1861 and baptized Oct 26, see #84 her parents are recorded as Elias Andersen, Seljelid and Anne M. Pederssdatter. The mother in the 1865 census was Anne Margrethe Olsdatter. The question is: who were the right one?
The mother of her younger sister Synive Helena (baptized Syndi Helene) is recorded as Anne M Olsdatter as in the 1865 census.
The mother of her older sister Anne Kristiana (baptized Anne Kirstina) is also recorded as Anne M Olsdatter, so Lydia Maries mother was Anne Margrethe Olsdatter.

Christiania is not the simplest area to find ancestors. Do you know when Mathilda Katrina Christiansen came to USA? - or do you have other info which could be of interest?

The earliest info is from an old family bible .Written in norwegian with no copyright. Mathilda is written as Mathilda Kahtinka Emilson(B-9/7/1877,came to usa 9/1/1893),father was written as Emil Hagebart Christiansen(B- 22/21/1846--came to usa 1/17/1923)).(Likely his father's first name was Christ or Christian? Other children had the last name Emilson. Mathilda's mother Anna(b-9/29/1850) Emil had a 1st wife (name unknown) they had two children (a son Karel, known as charlie . A daughter was born when the boy was a year old--both mother & daughter died. I am trying to read this from an old copy.. will try to forward it if you like... Other names I have found in my mother's things are LARS Povelsen(1654) & Jorgen Nilssen Fuglstad. Thank you again for all your help........

birth date for Emil a little strange, I take it as 2/21 1846 - Febr 21 1846. If so a likely candidate is #43 he was born out of wedlock by mother Karen Eriksdatter, Vang, Hedmark and the father chasseur Christian Hansen, Fedt.
Emil Hagbart Christiansen (29) and Anne Christiansdatter (24) were married Dec 12 1874, see #43.
The baptismal record for Anne Christiansdatter is #79 her parents were Christian Olsen and Maria Hansdatter, Næs, Trøgstad.
Mathilde Katinkas baptismal record is #158.
(The "candidate" I started with was the right one!)

Emil 1865 is now corrected.
A lot of pages, you may send them but translation will take time.

Thank you so much... I'm in no rush, as this seems to just be general info on their life. Can you by any chance find info on Nils Holgerson & Dalosen-Utskarpen(relative of Nels & Hilmar Bjerknesli) or a Lars Povelsen? Thank you, Nettsey
