Hi I am new to this but came here looking for some info concerning my great great great grandad John Nelson who was born at Charles Crown in Sweden 1786. He came to Britain in 1809 as he was in the English Merchant Service in Foreign trade.
I found this info on his natralisation papers but I do not understand what Charles Crown means whether it is a specific region of Sweden....

You might have luck with a forum/message board/mailing list that deals specifically with Sweden.
Such as:

http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/SWE/SWEDEN.html

Is there a possibility that the reference to Charles Crown is to Charles Crown Prince of Sweden. Check out this wikepedia article.

Hi Lisa,
I agree with Hopkins that your possibilities are much higher trying a swedish forum
Charles Crown is the english translation of the name of the swedish town called Karlskrona.
Good luck
