Chicago, Illinois in the 1880 US census -
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=6&filnamn=ILLI1880&gardpostnr=4579&sokefelt=skjul

The same family appears in the 1880 US census database at the LDS familysearch.org website and the persons doing the extraction to database read the second daughter's name (Otilde) as 'Utilda'.

I have found out that James Otto married Karoline Bertha Kramer in Chicago in 1900. The siblings may have used Olsen as well as Adersen/Anderson as surname. Hopefully James Otto and Karoline had children

Chicago is and has been for many years a BIG city. The US is a BIG country. If a family does not share your interest in your mutual history it could be very difficult to find them.

You should enlist help from forums with many more Americans actively involved in the history of their Norwegian emigrants ancestors.

Census-1910 for Cook county, Illinois:
James O Anderson, 1870
Caroline B Anderson, 1881
Mildred H Anderson, 1894
Leonard W J Anderson, 1901

Census-1920 for Cook county, Illinois:
James O Anderson, 1870
Caroline B Anderson, 1881
Leonard J Anderson, 1902

Caroline is most likely not the mother to Mildred, since she was only 13 yo at that time...

By 1930 I think the parents of Leonard W J Anderson have moved to California. Looking at the original census the middle initial looks more like a O than a C.

This could be the California Death Certificate for Leonard J Anderson Senior You can search using Leonard Anderson, born in 1901 in Illinois. Mothers maiden name is listed as Kramer which fits your posting above.

The Family Tree Section of Ancestry.com has the family James O. Anderson and Caroline B Kramer with two children Leonard J and Mildred A. The owner of that Famly Tree has posted many times on the Ancestry.com Message Board and uses the name eapauk. You can view his messages here.

Message Board

His Family Tree is titled Belzer family and the Home Person is Johann Melchior Belzer.

You can Google eapauk and find his messages as well.

Peoul was born in USA, so he was unknown to us. I will try to get in contact with epauk so we might find living relatives. Thank you for good help. I am not a member at Ancestry, so I can not get all their information about the family.
