Looking to confirm Ole Neeraas parrents as Peter Neeraas and Oline Skrovset. Ole was born in 1878 in Kristiansund. He does not seem to show up on the1900 census with the family but he may be there in 1900 living in a different location. http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1900&knr=1601&kenr=018&bnr=0003&lnr=02

Remember that so many of the parish records from Kristiansund burned. You already checked the surviving birth/baptismal and confirmation records that might be applicable for Ole Neeraas??

No, I don't know where to find those records on line. Just the census I attached to the original post. I missed this person all to gether durring my first bit of research because he sneaks in between the 1875 census and the 1900 census. (born in 1878 after the 1875 census, and out of the house/ family unit before the 1900 census) I just made contact with relatives in Norway thanks to the work that people at this site have done. (Thank you very much) They sent me an old formal family photo that shows Ole Neeraas with his parents and sisters and neice Florence Larsen. The photo was taken about 1910 I would guess....
Eric.

The Digitalarkivet web site has been adding scanned images of the original Norwegian parish church records for anyone with Internet access since November 2005.

The Digitalarkivet web site - http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebFront.exe?slag=vis&tekst=meldingar
An English option is available by clicking on that word from either the left hand column or the blue link bar along the bottom of the homepage.
The scanned images are available from the homepage link "Skanna kyrkjebøker" [Norwegian version]/"Digitised parish records" [English version] which is listed along the left hand column and from the blue banner of links along the top section of the homepage.
After you've clicked on that link and a new main page has presented on the screen be sure and read the instructions that are available from the Digitalarkivet for navigating the scanned records. The instructions are available in Bokmål (official Norwegian), Nyorsk (Norwegian), Davvisámegiella (Saami), and English.
Recommended basic reading are the "Startsiden" [Norwegian version]/"Main page" [English version], "Brukerveiledning" [Norwegian version]/"User's guide" [English version] and "Om tjenesten" [Norwegian version]/"About this service" [English version].

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -

I heard from a relative in Norway that Ole Neeraas may have married a woman named Kristine but I don't know the last name. They had six children, Hans, Peter, Thor Ase, Molla and another we don't know the name of. Ase married somone with the last name of Brask and had two children. One was named Eva and may have been a musician.
I did find one reference to an Olaf Edward Neeraas marrying a Birthe Kristine Hansen but I don't know if this is the same person or someone else.

Thank you again Einar. You have helped me a lot with this. I started this new thread because I was taking a slightly different track away from the original post regarding Florence and Olga Larsen. Perhaps I should have just kept it all together in one subject.
