yes, i think that makes sense; BERG would come from BERGET, and would be easier for americans to pronounce.

is neubergløkken and åker parts of oslo?

Todd

Neubergløkken does not exist any more, but Neuberggata (Neuberg street) is in the western part of Oslo. Aker (not åker) was the parish People on Neubergløkken belonged to.

Moen as a farm in Modum exists today, cannot find Dagsrudmoen today, but it was most likely a place/small farm, perhaps under Moen.

It is the parents of Karen Trulsdatter you have, not Thorsdatter.
They were married July 11 1822, see #29
Truls Gulbrandsen, Dagsrudmoen was then 22 years old and Barbro Knudsdatter, Moen 26 years old.

Truls parents Gulbrand Truelsen and Mari Nielsdatter, Berg were engaged July 29 and married Aug 28 1795, see
5th record on left page.
Maris parents are most likely Niels Johansen and Mari Rasmusdatter, see 1801 census.

Gulbrand was born Febr 24 1774, see 5th record from bottom of left page. Parents were Truels Gulbrandsen and Alet Madsdatter, Hole. They were engaged Sept 7 and married Oct 12 1771, see 5th couple on left page.

In 1801 Gulbrand and Mari are at Ersrud in Lier, see census.

Barbro Knudsdatter was born in Næs, Hallingdal, Buskerud and baptized Barbroe June 19 1796, see #100. Her parents were Knud Knudsen and Kari Michelsdatter.
Barbroe = Barbra, her parents and siblings in 1801.

Truels Gulbrandsen was baptized Dec 14 1735, see #108. His parents were Gulbrand Helgesen and Siri Nielsdatter .

Alet Madsdatter was born July 8 and baptized July 9 1747, see #56. Her parents were Mads Gulbrandsen and Sahra Abrahamsdatter at Øderud.

The marriage of Mads and Sahra (Sarka) see #17.

Ok- the only thing I have that is close to what you're asking is:

Ole Jensen Berg, born 1862.12.11 in Oslo, emigrated 1871.06.02, married Bratland, Martha, 1902.12.29 in Grand Forks, ND. He died 1916.08.27 in Fosston, MN.

I have other Bergs in Crookston, but no O Bergs.

Todd

Hard to know for sure who jcarrier is talking about. Is 1900 a birth year, or year of residence in Crookston? "Ole K Berget" may be part of the family of Knudt O Berget b 1830-1900 who apparently lived in or near Crookston.

1880 census

Olaus Knudtson Berget
in the U.S., World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
Name: Olaus Knudtson Berget
