#17 Gunda Emelie
What does the Kjoge mean after their names? Seems too late to have farm names?
Does this say what she died from?

Sorry I think Henriksen was their last name. Sometimes her husband seemed to use Kjoge with Henriksen. This is the only time I have seen her use it that is why it confused me. Thanks

In 1900 a married couple and 4 children with family name Kjøge lived in Oslo, the parents were born in Glemmen at Fredrikstad 1863 and -65.
Kjøge is a familyname in Norway today.

I looked into the birth records for Teodor and Gunda Emilie to see if Kjøge was used as familyname to some of the parnts, it wasn´t.

Teodor Henriksen was born on Trosvigstrand in Glemmen Oct. 18. bap. Nov. 20. 1859, Gunda Emilie (Pettersdatter) born in Glemmen Mai 9. bap. Aug. 25. 1861.

Thanks. Guess we will just have to wonder why they used Kjoge sometimes. Probably not a big deal but may be helpful someday. Again thanks for the information!

Hi,
In 1865 there were 9 farms named Kjøgøen in Glemmen (Gleminge) parish.
The ending øen means island so I think the name Kjøge is coming from these farms.
