I had no idea my great grandfather was a policeman; I have never heard that before. As far as I knew, he was a farmer.
- at the baptism of their 3rd child, Peter, in 1883 he was a farmer - he probably took over the Hund, nordre just before that time.

Can I suggest doing a search on the LDS site, familysearch.org and putting Hunn in the last name section and selecting Norway? Then enter. You will find lots of info on the family from that farm.

Klaus Martin Johansen, Hunn and Jenny Marie had a son Johan David Oct 21 1919, see #76
Jenny Marie was born in 1883, her baptismal record is most likely #4 born Jan 25 1883, her parents being shoemaker David Nilsen and Karen Davidsdatter.
Confirmation of this should be by the marriage record. Johan David could be their first child.

I wish I could read Norwegian. I can't make heads nor tails of this document. There is a son of Martin and Jenny living (or at least as of 8 years ago) at the Hunn farm, and his name is Johan (wife Else). I met him while I was there and he told me (through someone else who had very broken English) that he was the last person to see my father when he left Norway, which would have been in about 1924. That would have made him about 5 if he was born in 1919, but, of course, not dead. Could they have had two sons and named them both Johan? I guess stranger things have happened, huh?

- the document is a "birth register" giving approx the same info as a baptismal record in a parish book.
The info in this document is that Klaus Martin Johansen and Jenny Marie had a son Johan David born Oct 21 1919 when they were living at the Hunn farm. Klaus Martin, who was born 1877 in Fredrikstad, and Jenny Marie, who was born 1883 in Torsnes had been married since 1917.
