Niels Anderson born approx 1772 in Sogndal or on Stedje. Is there any reference to his birth? Parents? Any other information available? Thanks for the help

What's wrong with my answer in another of your postings where you find
"Maybe my description was not clear enough, the 3rd and 4th names described as "Then follow his father Anders Nielsen 34 years old and his mother Britha Eriksdatter 27 years old" - i.e. the 5 year old Niels parents!"

Confirmation is found in the baptismal record of June 29 1771 on top of 2nd column.
Interesting witnesses: Monsigneur Hans Knagenhielm, Madame Dorthe Knagenhielm and maiden Catrina Herzberg.

Sorry Einar, I had misplaced this information, having a hole in my line. I really appreciate your reiteration of the information. The connection is now verified between Gitlou/Nils to Anders Nielson/Britha and son Niels Anderson.

Why are the witnesses interesting? Is it because they are high ranking in the church?

Thanks, again.

Luella
