| I am looking for the passenger/ship list for Elling and Marit Dahlen who came from North Aurdal, Valdres Norway to America in May of 1865. Their 3 children came with them: Nels, Ingebret, and Knut. Any help you could give me on this would be appreciated. The parents were both born in 1835. Thanks so much... |

Elling and Marit Dahlen seems to be Elling Nilsen and Marit Engebretsdatter.
Marit was born March 16 1835, see #25.
Elling is most likely Erling born Oct 27 1835, see #1.
Elling and Marit were married Dec 26 1857, see #4.
Their son Niels was born May 11 1858, see #33.
Enebret was born Oct 11 1860, see #50.
Knud was born April 15 1863, see #30.

Elling and his family left Bergen June 6 1865 with Galathea which arrived Quebec July 18. See #52-56.
No records have been found for moving out of Nord-Aurdal.
Ellings parents and siblings in 1865.
Ellings parents were married Dec 1 1833, see #1.
Ellings father Niels Knudsen was born Febr 26 1809, see 2nd record from bottom of left page. Ellings grandparents was Knud Nielsen, Holdahl and Astri Bjørnsdatter. (Dahlen was a subfarm under Holdahl.)

Ancestry.com has a copy of the orginal manifest for this person. The others are listed as wife Maria, children Nils 7, Ingebrecht 4, and Knud 2.
