Now perhaps we can find the other 2 boys. Ole and Jens
- do you need one more Ole - should they both have Knud Halvorsen and Gurie Knudsdatter as parents?

May 14 was the date when it was recorded that Halvor Knudsen, Nordstokke 32 years old, intended to move out of Avaldsnes.

Knut Halvorsen og Guri Knutsdatter " Nordstokke must have had a lot of children. I was noticing the age difference of 15 yrs between the 2nd child named Knut Andreas Kanuteson b 1847 and Ole b 1832

- better check your papers, parents of these two were Knut Knutsen and Anna Karine Olsdatter.
Knut Halvorsen og Guri Knutsdatter were their grandparents.

Yes Ole and Jens both came to America.
It is Ole's son Samuel that had the Probate record where I was able to put the names to the family. I have no idea when he came, There were 2 Sam's one died in infancy and the other was born in 1865. So he was here before then.

Jen's I don't know either. His daughter Julia was born in 1844 here in LaSalle Co., IL so he was here by then. Jen's would have been 11 years old when his Mother died but his Dad lived long.

Thanks, Jodie

Knud Halvorsen and Gurine Knudsdatter sold Vestre Espeset 1801 to Ole Gunleiksen due to bad economi.

They settled down on Runningen 1806, a small farm, as leaseholders, the anual rent was 6 RiksDaler.
The contract secured them to stay there as long as they lived.
After they left Ronningen about 1810-11 for Karmĝy the farm has not been inhabited.

Strange coincidence;
Knud Halvorsen and Gurine Knudsdatter Espeseth were neighbors in Hovin to Kittel Olsen and Aslaug Nerisdatter Ĝstre Bakka "Toresbakka".
Kittel Olsen Bakka also owned Nordre Espeset which he gave to his son Halvor in 1807, see my posting from July 26.

Did ancestors of these families met in the USA?

Kittel Olsen and Aslaug Nerisdatter Ĝstre Bakka "Toresbakka". Would be Ole C Baker’s Great Grandparents. Ole C Baker married Julia Knutson daughter of Jens that we are also researching. Knud Halvorsen and Gurine Knudsdatter Espeseth would be Julia’s Grandparents. Small World!!!

Only have Sarah listed as Ole's wife. They may have met here in US

Jen's wife was Margaret and again all the kids were born here so I don't know if they married here? Somewhere someone had Johnson attached to Margaret but I don't know the source.

Thanks, Jodie
