BC Archives can provide copies of the microfilm document for a charge. See below.

All Vital Event registration documents that have been released can be viewed (sometimes at no charge) on microfilm at agencies holding copies of the microfilm rolls. Be sure to write down the registration number and microfilm number(s) for any registration documents that you intend to view on microfilm.
• A paper copy from microfilm may be obtained from the BC Archives by credit card. A charge applies - see fee for Specific Citation Package. Prepayment is required.
• Copies may also be obtained in person at the BC Archives or any repository holding a copy of the microfilmed registrations. See Locations Holding the Microfilm Collection on the BC Vital Statistics web site. See BC Archives Price List for copying charges. Be sure to write down the registration number and the microfilm reel numbers.
• Private researchers can be hired to make copies of registrations on your behalf, either from the BC Archives microfilm or from other respositories. See Independent Research Agent Register for a list of Victoria based researchers. Charges may vary.
• Certified copies of registrations or official certificates must be obtained from the BC Vital Statistics Agency.

She lists the same British Columbia Death Certificate as listed above. She also lists a son Oscar Melgard born 20 April 1909 as a son of Hendrick Julius Melgard. . She is likely descendant from him or a second wife of Hendrick. Do you have access to Ancestry.com. if not I can send her a message.

Thanks for the tip! I have access to ancestry.com and have sent a request to the family tree owner. No reply yet. You might have led me to an unknown cousin!

Is there any way I could get in touch with her directly to be able to see her family tree? She is welcome to watch mine:
http://www.myheritage.no/site-126518891/melgaard. It is still in Norwegian until I get it translated. I'll be happy to offer her my mail adress too.

She indicated to me that she will send you an e-mail through your norwayheeritag.com e-mail link. Let us know how it all turns out and if I can be of any further help.

I will surely get in touch - until then, please let your mother know she has two male cousins in Oslo, Norway: myself, Dag Melgaard (63) and my brother Bjarne (80). Our common grandfather had a son born in Trondheim four years before he left Norway for Canada.
