Hi everyone.
I have a parish record that I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly.
I'm looking at Peder Knudsen #8 at the bottom of the page. What are his parents names?
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8994&idx_id=8994&uid=ny&idx_side=-13

What I have: Knud Larsen? L????? and Thora Pedersdtr Handemyren ???
And what is noted at the far right?

Peder born Dec 15 1845, bapt Jan 18 1846. He was an "uægte" child, parents Ungkarl Knud Larsen, Løkensbergene and Thora Pedersdatter Handemyren 1st leiermål.
18 Januar af Barbro Nilsdatter, Myren (gave the info about the "uægte" child) she was also one of the godparents.

Thank you eibache.

Ah, I guessed Peder was an "uægte" child. In a 1865 census document she lives as a border at the Jarstad farm under Hande, Vestre Slidre. She is not married and has two children and both have different last names...curious.

Hi Heidi,
I think this dictionary will help you a great deal when trying to translate parish records.

Ragnild Gudbrandsdatter, 11 years old in the 1865 census, was also an "uægte" child, she was born March 17 1855 and her father was Gulbrand Johannesen, Einang. (Ragnild should have been Gulbrandsdatter then.)

Thank you Wanda!

Eibache, I just found Ragnild's baptism record. You are one step ahead of me. I was about to search for Gulbrand in the Vang og Slidre bygdebok.
Thank you!!
