I do not think this has been mentioned previously (and please excuse me if it has been), but those of you with family in the Voss Hordaland area may find the Vosselag website to be an extremely useful resource.

There are not only direct links to the resources available for Voss Hordaland here but they also have the vossaboki of Lars Kindem here and the History of Emigration from Voss and Vossings in America, by Knut Rene, both translated into English and on CD.
