Magdalene Marie Petrines parents were married Nov 29 1849, see #13.

Her father Matthias Schønning was born June 29 1823, see #15, his parents were Elias Christophersen and Liesbeth Isaachsdatter.

Magdalena Marie Petrine Mathisen was born on Holand in Vågan, Lofoten map
Her brother Kristian with family on the farm in 1900 census
Kristian, his wife Amanda and their daughter Eli, were all buried on Digermulen graveyard, according to Gravminner i Norge . Kristian died 1947, Amanda 1955 and Eli(n) 1950.

Again, thanks a lot for all the work you've put into this investigation. It seems very convincing that the right person here might be from Vågan. The coincidence that there should be two persons named Magdalena Maria Petrine Mathiasen (or Magdaline/Magdelene or Mathisen/Mathiasen) is nearly prohibitive even though the birth year varies from 1872 to 1868. It also fits that she moved to Trondheim (1900 census) where she met my grandfather. Could she have managed to deduct 4 years from her age when she met my grandfather and gave birth to my father in 1904? It might have looked better to be 32 than 36 in such a case.... but it puzzles me that she probably had no previous matrimonial history at such a mature age.
