Hi, On behalf of another person Olav N. Håland, Bryne, Rogaland I am making this query.
He is looking for possible descendants of Peder Helmik Nilsen b. 9. of Desember 1874. His father was Nils Pederson (Person) Godeseth.
Peder Nilsen sign on the ship " Augustina" Stavanger- USA in 1897. I undestand he left this ship the US.
In his father's obituary who died 1941 hi is mentioned as Peder Nilsen, USA.
He has found a Peter Nelson married to Bertha living in Broklyn, New York according to 1920- 30 census.
Thank you, Magnar.

Hi and thak you both. The father of Peder Helmik, Nils Pederson (Person) was born in Sweden 1850 he was also a sailor before he became farmer in Norway, he married Peder's mother 1873, she died 1877 and Nils remarried her sister . May be Peder has grown up with his grandparents and did not know much about his father.
In that Stavanger region they use to pronounce Rakel or Rackel like and almost like Rakkla. Thank you. Magnar.
