According to the protocols, Anders Johnsen Venaas emigrated from Bergen to North America in 1905 (reg. 28th September 1905). Link: http://www.digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=26&filnamn=emiberg&gardpostnr=55833&merk=55833#ovre

Can anyone tell me what ship he travelled with, and where he landed? USA or Canada?
I suppose he went via Hull as most emigrants, but I have not been able to trace him after he left Bergen.

Sincerely,
Terje Sæterli

I would expect him to be on the "LAKE MANITOBA".
Departuring Liverpool, England on Oct 3rd., arriving Montreal, Quebec on Oct 15, 1905.

Jan Peter, thank you very much for this I am still stuck in tracing this person. I contacted Royal BC Museum on sources available; they sent me a link over various searchable population and immigration databases but I have not come through yet. Assuming that he traveled with Lake Manitoba and went ashore in Montreal, where would you advise to search? Do you know whether there are shipslists or immigration protocols available?

Best for the new year, and thanks again.
Terje
