Most likely your Nils Magnus.

Nils Magnus was born Nov. 17. 1866 in Hedrum outside Larvik, parents Gustav Larsen and Mari Hansdatter Helleidet, see #7.

Vaara was spelled Hvaara (H is silent), pronounced Vaara.

Gustav Larsen was from Sweden, "Inderst" lodger and related to the owner of farm Askelien, Nils Magnus had 4 siblings in the 1865 census;
Karen 9, Oluf 7, Hans 6 and Anton 2, see here
