Abel Abrahamsdatter was born about 1775. She was married in Skjervøy, Troms 17 Sept 1797 to Knud Olsen. They were the parents of at least 4 children all born in Skjervøy: Thomas born 20 Jun 1798, Karen 15 Nov 1799, Birgitte 25 Nov 1804. I have seen others who say the 4th child is Abel Christian 4 Oct 1807. I am looking at the digitized records of Skjervøy. Because I am not familiar with the language and the handwriting, I am unsure if I have found the record of Abel Christian. I did find a record at the following location http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9729&idx_id=9729&uid=ny&idx_side=-189
Please see the 2nd entry on the left side.

I believe this is a record that mentions a child of Abel Abramsdatter as I think I see the mother's name, but I am unsure if I am understanding this record correctly. Can someone translate the record that I refer to.

I know that Knud Olsen died before 1814 because that is when Abel Abrahamsdatter married Peter Andreas Kolbus

Does anyone know the death date of Knud Olsen

thanks

Please see the 2nd entry on the left side.
- it reads Oct 4 baptized Knud Olsen and Abel Abrahamsen, Westuløens 6th child born Sept 25 called Abel Christian.

Bergitha, born Nov 25 1804 was their 5th child.

It looks like Knud and Abel had a deadborn child in 1801, see above "3dje Maÿ"

Uløe, todays Uløya is a small island in Skjervøy municipality.

View from Hamneidet, part of Uløya, the island in front to the left, see here

Abel Abrahamsdatter was from Vestuløen (West Uløen), located to the west side of the island, see the red spot here

Thank you Kåre for the information and map of Uløya and Eindar for the correction on Abel's marriage date and the translation of daughter Abel's information and the finding of the stillborn child and thanks too to Harald for the death date of Knud. You guys have such a talent for finding this and a better talent of being willing to share. I am indebted to you all.
