Hi, Hilda Margrete Jensdatter b. 29. september 1903 in Kvinnherad went to US in 1914. She was going to Eagle Grove, Iowa to meet P. Folkedal. She seems to traveled together with Anna Sofie Flatebø b. 1893 also Eagle Grove. Wonder if there are a possibility to find what happened to Hilda Margrete, she was born out of wedlock. Magnar.

Hilda is listed as Hilda Bakke at Ellis Island, so Hattie Barke (Thompson) could possibly be Hattie Bakke?
I see that Hilda's mother is Ragnhild Andersdtr Bakka, born 1877. Her birthyear is abit off compared to Hattie/Harber, which looks to be born ab 1886.

I wonder if Hattie/Harber is Herborg Andersdtr Bakke, who emigrated from Kvinnherad 22-Feb-1910.
Is she a sister of Ragnhild? Herborg was one of the Godparents at Hilda's christening.

Census-1900, Herborg

Census-1900, Ragnhild

Eagle Grove is located in Wright County, Iowa.

There is a Thompson descendant who is a member of the RootsWeb Norway-List (mailing list). His name is Ron Thompson and I think his Norwegian emigrant family lived in Winnebago County, Iowa for many years. Although he no longer lives in that area now he has done a good deal of research on his family and should be able to answer quickly if he is or is not related to the Thompsons mentioned above.

Thank you both, Herborg Andersdtr. Bakka was Hilda's aunt and Ragnhild was her mother yes. Hilda has interested me before, didn't know who her father was, now I know, another surprise. A half brother of Hilda is still living here. Thank you Magnar.
