Salmund Nielsen, Steenseth 19 years was confirmated 1785, see last record in second column.
Salmon was an "uĉgte" child, see bapt. record of Dec 22 1765, Dom 4 Advent - the mother was Giertrud Salmonsdatter, Slyngstad in Strand parish who was a servant Solnĝr. The father was Niels Olsen, servant from Romsdalen.

Congratulation! You found him. I had this on LDS IGI, but could not find the right church book.

Salmund was bap. in Skodje in the old church from 1750, demolished 1860, the only left from this church is the Altarpiece

A couriosity since Bolt is mentioned in page one;
An older church from 1428 is mentioned in Bishop Aslak Bolt´s "Jordebok" Farm register.

Thanks, everyone for all the effort on this one, it is appreciated. Great find, Einar. The last thing I had done was go through every confirmation record in Borgund/Borgund. No luck of course. The 1801 gets you in the wrong direction as he is listed as 31 years old. I doubt I ever would have found the 1765 out of wedlock record. If I understand correctly, that entire record is his. Next stop - his siblings and parents marriage and death records - thanks again

Did Giertrud Salmundsdatter bring Salmund with her and move to Borgund ?
I found a Giertrud Salmonsdatter married Knud Pedersen Gidske in Borgund July 24. 1774, see 2. wedding left page here;
Dom: 8.p: Trinitatis
Enkemand (Widower) Knud Pedersen Gidske and Giertrud SalomonsDatter

I am looking for marriage records for Giertrud to Niels Olsen - none yet, also looked at 1801 census and found 1Giertrud age 48, married second time to a Morten Olesen - he only 30 on Maaseidvog farm. That would have made her 12 when Salmon born in 1765.

What do you think of this record - Giertrud located on the bottom right side?
Seems to be many Stenset and Store Aerset references but I can't read the father's name.

Giertrud on bottom of right page - father was Christen Halvorsen Stensĉt.

Salomon Knudsen baptized his daughter Giertrud Nov 29 1732 in Strand(en) parish, see bottom of right page.

Another possibility from Ĝrskog for Giertrud Salamonsdatter:

Ĝrskog borders Skodje.
Christening Nov. 29. 1732 in Ĝrskog church, last bap. right page here:
dĝbt (christened) Salamon Knudsen Langelos child Giertru

This Giertrud would have been 33 when Salmon was born in 1765 then. And she could have been dead by the 1801 census - age 69 -

Salamom/Salmon is an unusual name.
I bring up the familytree for Salamon Knudsen Langlo here .

Giertrud b. 1732 is not recorded here but we know she exist so keep it for possible future use.

Ĝrskog has Bydebooks, 3 volumes not online, volume 2 has information concerning the farms and the people who lived there in the past, see here
