Another request to help translate a parish record to English – this time an illegitimate birth.

See http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?show=17&uid=69045&urnread_imagesize=gigant&hode=nei&ls=1

Entry 59 – Johan Severin Larsen.

I would like to know what is written in the last column.

Also, does anyone have any tips on how I might be able to find out more about his parents as I expect there was no marriage?

Please give parish and year, the link did not work.
Found him #59.
Father was Servant and bachelor Lars Jensen, Fjeldvig and the mother is Bergitte Simonsdatter, Tenfjord.
The information about the child was given by the mothers father.

Einar

Sorry,

The parish is Kolvereid 1857-1874 (1858).

Cheers.

The mother Birgitte (Bergitte) Simonsdatter was married in 1865.

To find the father is more of a challenge, common name, no age given.

As Einar said, Johan Severin's father may be hard to find, but there are candidates:

Lars Jensen, aged 40 in 1865, lodger at Haverø farm in Nærø:

He is living with his younger wife & small daughter, he was probably a bachelor in 1858..!

Could be worth investigating, sometimes ministers made remarks about illegitimate children in the registers...
