Hi,

Didn't find an Anton Ronne in Minnesota 1905-1910 but did find a Martin Ronne in Crookston, Polk County, Minnesota. Here is his marriage to an Annie Hovland, could be a coincidence:

POLK E/52 8/29/1891 RONNE, MARTIN HOVLAND, ANNIE

And here is one from www.greatriversnetwork.com in Minnesota state census 1895:

Minnesota State Census Index (1)
Results 1 - 1 Ronne, Anton
census record
1895
Age: 59 Gender: male Birth Place: Norway Ethnicity: White
Anton Ronne
Badger, Polk County, Minnesota, United States
Organization: Minnesota Historical Society
Collection: Minnesota State Census Index
Identifier: 4468274

census record
1895
Age: 64 Gender: female Birth Place: Norway Ethnicity: White
Lowrence Ronne
Badger, Polk County, Minnesota, United States
Organization: Minnesota Historical Society
Collection: Minnesota State Census Index
Identifier: 4468304

Looks to be the family who left through Trondheim in 1887.

Hi,

104 people having Rønne as part of their name left through Trondhjem. Of those only these copied and pasted list their residence as "Vegten"/"Vigten". All of these went to Emerson, Manitoba and most were later found in Minnesota, particularly Polk County (a neighbor county to Pennington);

Anton Rønne from Vigten is Anton Andersen Hansvig from Nærøy, Nord-Trøndelag. His wife is Lorentse Eriksdatter.

Chr record of their daughter Johanna Elisabeth
Source: Nord-Trøndelag county, Nærøy, Parish register (official) nr. 784A05 (1860-1876), Birth and baptism records 1867, page 60.

The distance between Nærøy and Ørlandet are not far, but it does not look like a very close family relation between Marie and the Anton Rønne who emigrated in 1887. Atleast not a brother-in-law.

Hi,

Well Marie's arriving says her passage paid by a friend so there may be no relationship at all. But also that somebody in Norway knew about her and probably Anton Rønne as well. To the back burner then...

Anton Rønne immigrated in 1887. He first appears on the 1895 Minnesota Territorial Census as "Anton Ronne". The 1900 U.S. Federal Census, the 1905 Minnesota Territorial Census and the 1910 U.S. Federal Census all show the name as "Anton Rynne". The 1920 U.S. Federal Census shows the name as "Anton Rooney". Anton was naturalized in 1901 and married "Maria Ronnes" on 18 Sep 1905. Anton passed away on 5 Dec 1920 in Seattle WA.

For some reason, I am unable to contact other members through the forum. Is it possible for jkmarler to contact me?

Thank you Tom for this additional info. The members of this site such as yourself have been so helpful. I will look at this again tonight and see how it fits in the Family Tree. Thanks again. Ian
