Hello - I have obtained birth and family info for him from the General genealogy forum, but am now wondering if there is any mention of him being a seaman in these years. He's recorded as immigrating at Wilmington, North Caroline (primarily a Scottish destination) on June 19, 1910. I'm working on confirming this in the US, as he used to tell the family that he "jumped ship" in NYC - or at least, that is my memory, perhaps romanticized on his or my part. We know he exchanged postcards with other sailors via the Norwegian seaman "hostel" in Brooklyn, NYC. I don't know if there are any records from that place - I will check on that in the U.S.
