I am looking for the Anders J. Stageberg family in Norway. I find his wife Anne Olsd. and 4 children emigrating in 1876 to Wills, MN. They are numbers 14882 - 14886 in Digitalarkivet "Emigranter fra Trondheim 1867-1930. I cannot find when Anders left or find them on the census. We would like to know where they lived and if they lived on the Stageberg farm from where Torgeir Olsen Østerås lived. Torgier's family emmigrated at different times. I question if Anders was the son of Jens as we find him listed in a church record just one time as Anders Jensen. We want to learn about this family as Anders' son Gunder is the g-grandfather we need info on.

Here is an Anders Jenson, wife Anne and family in the 1865 census in Hegre (which is a parish in which there is a Stageberg farm):

The youngest daughter, Sigrid, was born Oct 4 1873, see #67. Parents Anders Jenssen and Anne Olsdatter, Stagaberg.

Info given: The parents were married July 17 1857. Anders Jenssen was born Nov 25 1832 and Anne Olsdatter was born Nov 15 1833.

Gunder was born Jan 9 1867 see #5. The parents were then living at Flornæs-rønning.

The marriage record is #16, Anders Jenssen came from Flornæs and his father was Jens Andreassen.
Anne Olsdatter came from Øverkiil and her father was Ole Gundersen.

Thank you! We think there was another son, possibly named Mikel and a daughter named in the emigrant papers named Anne and in church records we find a Christine A. Berg. Anders and Anne went by Stageberg but Gunder went by Berg. We haven't been able to follow the rest of the family in Minnesota and Iowa. Can you find Anders on the Emigration list? Did Ole go with him earlier to the US and the rest of the family later?

Anne Olsdatters baptismal record shows the birth date to be Nov 28 1833 (not Nov 15 as read from Sigrids bapt record), she was an "Uægte" child, the father was Ole Gunnersen and the mother Kirsten Tollefsdatter, see #9.

Anders Jenssens baptismal record shows the birth date to be Dec 3 1832 (not Nov 25 as read from Sigrids bapt record), his parents were Jens Andersen and Anne Larsdatter, see #17.
