Gårdsnummer 22 - Bruksnummer 1 land No. 22 - title No. 1
All real estate in Norway are identified through landnumber, titlenumber and municipality. The old (original) properties have continuously landnumbers in each municipality. The original farm are today divided into a number of properties (small holdings, real estates or apartments), each of which has a continuous titlenumber under the same landnumber.
Thus, the farm "Nørre Garli" in Nord-Aurdal, Oppland are given the land no. 22, and title no. 1.

This numbering plan was introduced about 1886; thus census-1865 does not show any such info for farm Brovolden.
The 1900-census shows that farm Store Husum have the number 4/1
The area Borgund have later been merged with Lærdal, so they've got a new numbering plan. Store Husum have today 51/1. So has Bruvoll, so the land where Jacob Johannessen had his house now belongs to Store Husum, ie. the hotel.
