My great grandmother Kaia Langberg came to Iowa and married the brother of her sister's husband, Arne Rensmon, my great grandfather was Martin Pedersen Reinsmoen from Sorkness Grue Hedmark. I would like to learn if the parents of the Langbergs also emigrated, probably around 1900.
I have found records for my great grandmother and her siblings but not the parents departure.

Dates for birth, marriage etc would be nice.
Could Kaia be born 1864 and when did she emigrate?
Could her parents be Martin Andreasen and kjersti Christiansdatter?

This is possibly the couple Martin Reinsmoen and his wife Kaia in the 1930 US census. Her birthyear is given as 1869 and migration year as 1881. If these dates are accurate, it's most likely she traveled with someone as a 12 year old. Not many traveled alone at that age.

If this is her in the 1900 US Census the date given here for her immigration is 1886. That would make her about 17 and more reasonable for her to immigrate on her own or with friends to America.

There is a Maren Langberg buried near Arne Langberg in the Bristol Cemetery, Worth County, Iowa. Arne was married twice. Could Maren have been his wife? The cemetery is the resting place of several generations of Langbergs, Reinsmoen, Rensmon, Calgaard, Ostmo, and many other Norwegian immigrants.
I have a photo taken about 1919 with much of the Langberg/ Reinsmoen-Rensmon family gathered around an old couple. I have no records of the Langberg parents being buried in Iowa and now, thanks to this site and all of you, have proof that they died in Norway in 1905. Their children had all become prosperous farmers. My grandfather told my aunt that his grandparents were buried in a very small cemetery north of Sion Church in Worth County. No records have been found, yet.
