Hello, once again I seek your assistance in locating information. I am hoping to find information on Marta Nylend (or Nyland or Nylænd, not sure of spelling), possibly born 1 April 1905 in Narjordet, Os, Hedmark, Norway. I am also hoping for information on her sister Olaug, born in 1909, but I do not have places or exact dates. I am hoping to learn the parents, and any other details.

Thank you!!

Thank you! This is a tremendous help! Marta's mother Inger Kirstine Engebretsdatter, Nylænd came to America in 1910, where she married in 1912 and had a family. I am shocked to learn she had a child (or possibly 2 children) in Norway that she left there, no one in the family knows about this daughter Marta before, which is surprising as Marta's parents are cousins, so connencted to the family tree in multiple ways.

I have found some information about Olaug, Marta's sister, but I'm not sure it's the right Olaug. Was this a common name?
I have a possible birthday of April 5, 1909 in Os, Osterdalen, with same mother (Inger Kirstine Nylend) but the father is Nils Larsen.

Here I see is Marta in the in 1910 census, living in the home of her uncle Olav and grandparents.

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01036418002348

Can someone help me to translate the notation on the right side of the baptism certificate?
I recognize the uncle`s name of Olav E Nylænd (same uncle she is living with in the census) but I cannot understand the rest of it.

Thank you, I truly appreciate your assitance.

Where exactly did you find that information?

The 1910 census list "Olaug Larssen born 05.04.1909 in Trondhjem - Pleiedatter fors. Trondhjems kommune".

The notation is telling who gave the information related to the child born out of wedlock. In this case farmer Olav E Nylænd did so and Eric Moseng and Sexton ?? were present.

So is the census saying Olaug is born in Trondheim?
I found my other link to the census via the ancestry site. There I also have now found a passenger list that show Marta travelled to Canada to see her mother in 1926.

Olaugs marriage is also recorded in the churchbook for Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, see #37
Kildeinformasjon: Sør-Trøndelag fylke, Domkirken i Trondheim, Klokkerbok nr. 601C19 (1935-1946), Ekteviede 1941, side 137.
Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=39539&idx_id=39539&uid=ny&idx_side=-142.
Here her birthplace is said to be Trondheim.

If the sister Olaug is the one that married in Leksvik with W.Berg, then thats my great grandmother. I do not know much about that part of my family history, but I have heard about a research that where done which included Olaugs ancestry... Ive also heard that the older generation of my family where contacted and even given som research papers with information and histories..

What I do know, is that my grat grandmother Olaug did have a sister who also where born out of wedlock,r which later travelled to america to seek out her mother.

So, if this is the right Olaug, it should be possible to find someone who beholds a lot of information about her and her mothers ancestry
