Can someone who can read Norwegian tell me if the final entry off to the right (on the facing page) is the cause of death for my Gr-Gr Grandfather Helge Andersen (62) and his son Mattheus (19)? They both appear to have died on the very same day and I thought maybe it said something about a storm and no survivors....or "something" and no survivors. They are from Sorgjeslingen Farm in Nærøy, Nord-Trøndelag.

Their names are at the very bottom #348 and 349.on this page:

Thank you.

There are 6 total on this page that have that cause of death. It looks to me like " perished on the sea and not _____" But I'd leave it to Norwegian capable forumites. I read through several pages in the death records of this place. Many folks died this way. Further on there is an entry which says ____ days after so I think the last word means "recovered"
"Perished on the sea, not recovered."

Correct translation.

1863 Norwegian: "omkom paa Søen og ikke gjenfundet"
2012 Norwegian: "omkom på sjøen og ikke gjenfunnet"
