#23 is the marriage record for Fredrik Halvorsen and Gurine Jensdatter.
Does it say where he was from?
Could this be his birth record?

Thanks - they sure did have a lot of children! Anne Cathrine is my great great grandmother.

The Lyner Prgj listed on the 1865 census - where is that? I have googled and looked but can not figure out what it stands for. Thinking it has to be something related to the birth parish of Fredrik Halvorsen but just can't make the connection to Oppland and the birth record I found.

Lyner Prgj - Lunner parish, it is in Oppland. Your Google will find it.

After the birth record for Fredrik Halvorsen there is a word after Halvor Olsen - looks like Gronbraaten? what does that mean or is it a farm name? Trying to see where they were from and where to look for a marriage record for his parents.

thank you.

Yes, it's Grønbraaten - name of the farm they were living on also in 1801.

Thank you.

please look at #14
Source information: Vest-Agder county, Halse in Mandal, Parish register copy nr. B 1G (1850-1853), Marriage records 1851, page 41.

I think I see the word Gronbraaten again. Not the same parish but could be his son?

Niels Jacob Frederichsen was from Agger (Aker) parish, born on Grønland in Xtiania (Christiania = Oslo) - he was 24 years old.

Thanks - guess it will take some work to rule him in or out. My Niels Jacob from above was born in 1829 in Aker parish. I don't see another one born in Aker in 1827 but still cant be sure it is him or not.

The January 4th entry for Halvor Olsen and Dorthe Jorgensdatter - should be the parents of Fredrik Halvorsen - is this their marriage record? Sorry I can not make out any of what this says - please help! There is a word after Jorgensdatter - Raasta? after Olsen - Ulven? is this where they were from - any help in the translation will be much appreciated :)

Assuming Dorthe was from Jevnakker - Familysearch shows a Dorthe Jorgendatter bapt on 22 June 1738 - this would be about right for my Dorthe. I do not see anything on these pages that looks like Dorthe - but the script is so hard to read - does anyone else see it?

I have found a Rasta in Akershus and also maybe an Ulven in Akershus? I can not figure out what parish they might be in or even if I am looking in the right place. Any ideas or thoughts on this translation.

thanks

David

The January 4th entry is the engagement between Halvor Olsen, Ulven and Dorthe Jorgensdatter, Raastad - this took place in the old church in Jevnaker, witnesses were Anders Ulsrud and Peder Borgersen, Ulven.

The marriage took place the same day, witnesses was Erich Olsen, Schøyen and Marthe Christophersdatter, Ballangerud.

thank you. looks like it is the right marriage record.
Are Raastad and Ulven places or farm names? Any ideas where to look for their birth records? Do you think the bapt record I found for Dorthe is for this Dorthe?

Thank you - I do so much appreciate the advice!

The baptismal record for Dorthe Jørgensdatter starts on the 5th line after 22 Juni, Dom 3dje Post Trinit on right page. It says "Jørgen Maansen, Raastads Barn døbt med Navn Dorthe; Fadd Paal, Marthe og Guroe Raastad."
