I have had no success trying to determine whether Kirkhus and Vasbakken under Ytrevold exists today.

Read about Årdal in Wikipedia.

How I managed to refer to Årdal in Sogn I don't understand, sorry. Canged the link to the right Årdal.
Further searching revealed the farm that Vasbakken belonged to, see Ytrevoll and Kirkhus now Kyrkhus.

You can zoom and pan in the map to see where it fits into a larger map.

There are various sources from where Jørgen Olsen was born in 1812 (44 1/4 when he married 1855).
Vinje in Telemark, Sauherad in Telemark, but to my knowledge he was born in Solum in Telemark.

Another info tells when he settled down in Årdal ca 1835 he came from Sauda in Rogaland.
In 1900 he lived on Vassbakken as widower as Jørgen Vasbakken born in Saude (Sauherad) in Telemark 1812.

Jørgen Olsen is recorded as coming to Ytrewold in Årdal 1855, see #2.
He is said to be born April 26 1812 - this is most likely his baptism, he was born April 18 1812, (found by Kåre earlier), see 3rd from bottom of far right column.

That is great information,I have information that he was married 1855 in Årdal to Gundla Gregersdatter,so he must have married just as he moved there then? Do you find a weddingyear and papers on that marriage?
