Would like marriage and birth records for Knud Torkildsen and his wife Kari Endresdatter from Dybvaag, Sund, Hordaland. Their children and when they were born are Kari 1810, Endre 1813, Knud 1822 and Anna 1826. Thanks for your help. Wanda

Kari was baptized April 20 1810, see 9th record on left page.
Endre was baptized May 23 1813, see 15th record on left page.
The mother to these children was Kari Endresdatter. She came from Bussesund, see 1801.

The father Knud Torchelsen could very well be Knud Torbiørnsen, see marriage of widower Knud Tobiørnsen, Dybevogen and maiden Kari Endresdatter, Bussesund June 4 1809, see 2nd marriage on left page.

How, why and when Knud changed his name would be interesting to find out.

It looks like he changed his name sometime within a ten month period between the marriage and the birth of 1st child Kari. Would he have to have it recorded anywhere?

Many of Sund's church books are digitized.

Marriage 1796
A son of these parents married 1837. Here the father is still called Knud Torbjørnsen.

And the same in next marriage 1846

But Torkildsen when Knud jr married 1849

A Torchel born 1817

A Knud Torbjørnsen, Bøe 33 years old was burried Nov 4 1804, see top of right page.

Is this the same Knud Torbiørnsen born 1767 at Store Bøe and was married to Ane Wincentzdatter?

If it is, he did not change name to Knud Torkelsen and was not the one who married Kari Endresdatter in 1809!

Could the person that was burried Nov 4 1804 be Knud Torbjørnsens wife, in other words Ane Wincentzdatter?

The age fits with Ane Wincentzdatter, but not with Knud Torbjornsen, as the person buried Nov 4, 1804.

Confirmation 1819
Vincent Knudsen is still living on Bøe, Lisbeth, his mother's mother, is a widow, his father Knud Torbjørnsen is dead.

I think it is a mistake in the 1809 marriage record, It was widower Knud Torkildsen from Dybevaagen who married to Kari Endresdatter.

Torbjørn and Torkild were two different names. You could not change between them.

It does look like Knud Torkelsen and Knud Torbjornsen are two different people. Is it possible to find Torkelsen's parents and and 1801 census for him and his family?
