Not sure if this has been posted before but this is the leaving Norway record of Kristine Bunæs age 22 in 1893 headed to Sauk Centry:

http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMIOSLO&personpostnr=96320&merk=96320

A lot of the links in this old topic no longer function. Here is the current link to Kristine's departure:

He was born in 1850 and died 1898? What does it say under columns 5, 7, 8 and 9 next to Olaus in #39 below?

The 1885 census mentions a couple of familiar names from a photo taken in Christiania, on which Hjordis transcribed the names of her 3 half sisters named Olga, Therese and Mathilda (likely listed from youngest to oldest). There is a Therese and Matilda mentioned here - is it possible these are Julie's daughters?

Most likely the baptismal record for Therese, an "uægte" child, #246 - father Olaus Pedersen, mother Johanne Christine Jensen.

- I read Kristian Johnsen (should have been Jensen), Bunæs.

Also, Olaus Petersen had been married before, a probate had been held.

What is an "uægte" child? Any chance this is a term that would associate the child with the father, or is it linked to the mother?

Not sure what you mean by "associate" Both parents are named in the record.

I wasn't sure what it means to be an "uægte" child.
