Searching for information about this person emigrating from Sandøy in March 1886.

According to emigration lists from Ålesund he left for Hull 12th this month, most likely with the Wilson Line vessel SS Tasso 1.
http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMIAALE
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=3840&uid=ny&idx_side=-151

He had bought his ticket with Allan Line which indicates a connection vessel in Liverpool with the name og S/S Parisian.

He was born July 5th 1886 and confirmated August 28 1886 on this island.
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=2277&uid=ny&idx_side=-8
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=2277&uid=ny&idx_side=-55

His father was Peder Anton Olsen Sandø,
and mother Petrine Hansdatter.
Brother Hans Andreas Antonsen Sandø, my great-great-grandfather.
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01038297002947

As far as I the infomraton I have found tells me, the vessel sailed from Ålesund to Bergen/Stavanger before crossing the North Sea.
The vessel grounded the 14th outside Bømlafjorden.
All passengers we saved an brought back to Bergen by S/S Domino.
Most likely they contiuned their emigration journey March 20 with the same Vessel S/S Domino.

http://www.norwayheritage.com/t_corresp.asp?id=2023

If the passengers that inteded to connect with a Allan Line vessel still managed to take the S/S Parisian I do not know as I do not find Ole Thomas on the passengerlist.

I have found more or less nothing else than the emigration record from Ålesund, other than this small start on a family tree, not telling me much more than I already know. But this seems to be some ancestors from one of the daughters of his brother, Anna Hansdatter Aaronsen.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/M7JG-KHH

Anyone out there that can help me with information about this person?

He is registered in Ålesund as Ole T Sandø when he left March 12th.
Born In Sandøy 05.07.1861, as 24 years old on departure.
Heading for Lake City Minnesota.

His ID for emigration was issued by the local church in Sandøy Feb. 22nd.

I have a feeling that the vessel Tasso at that time sailed via Bergen/Stavanger before sailing to Hull, but I hvae no good information about this at the moment.

Found this on a internet site stating that the grounding found place at March 14th.

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/SWEDEN/2001-06/0991736976

As mentioned earlier, even though it is written on this site that the vessel sailed straight from Ålesund to Hull, I belive that there is a chance that Ole Thomas was on the vessel at this grounding.

Can not be this person. Found however this person mentioned on the same trip to Quebec, listed as number 24659
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/passenger/001045-119.02-e.php?sisn_id_nbr=2428&page_sequence_nbr=1&interval=20&page_id_nbr=19208&&&&&&&&PHPSESSID=9g5h9fmr056n8tvp66ebrrofh7

Can however not see if the name is Antonsen or Andersen, looks more like Andersen. Age 24 is correct. I can not read where destination is...

Seems to be correct with birth and immigration.
What was the most normal thing to do? Use the fathers name as last name (Antonsen), or Sandø as the place he came from. In the last case wouldn't it be most natural to use Sando or something similar sounding? Stabo is quit different from Sandø.

My 2 cents:

Name is Ole Andersen, destination is definately Minnesota sinc the next 2 entries are dittoed and Red Wing is in Minnesota. The town looks to be either Thomas or Stevens. There is a town in Minnesota named Stephen (spelled that way) and a county named Stevens, The front 2 letters look a lot like the St. that begins St. Ansgar and St Paul further up the page.

For what it's worth.

This is how the transcriber has him listed. It looks to me like he is listed as going to Thompson Minnesota and the next two people are going to Red Wing. There is a Thompson, MN but it is way up north near Duluth.

OK, I guess the chance for beeing Ole Thomas is slim in this case as well :)

As mentioned earlier he was listed to go to Lake City MN and Anderson(sen) is not the same as Antonsen.

Hard to find the passenger list for Ole, however this may be the passengers right below Ole. So if I can find a passenger list for them, perhaps I can find Ole.
