Yes, Fet Bygdebok is of very high quality with few errors!
When I turn to p. 155 in vol. 3 I can read:

"Mid 1780's this family came to Myra u Kjustad:
JAKOB JAKOBSEN, Skauen u Falla (1756-1809) married ELSE BĜRGERSD. Strandbakken u Holter 1751.
Children:
Halvor 1782-94
Your Ċse 1786, married Hans Olsen 1818, to Flaen
Margrete 1789
Hans 1791, married widow Else Arnesd. N Kjustad 1816

This info should however be verified against the original registers!

All places mentioned are in Fet.

Wow, Kċre, thank you so much! And more good info from janrm and his Fet Bygdebok.

It's fascinating to learn about these ancestors in eastern Norway. Most of my Norwegian ancestors are from the west - three great-grandparents born on Karmĝy and one in Bergen - so all of this is new and eye-opening. Takk takk takk!

Nice photo Jan.
I assume some of the houses or parts of them are quite old.
Skauen (Skougen) under Falla, later Skauen under Varċbruket was established early in the 1700s and belonged to the same family for 5 generations up to 1863.

Skauen means Forest.

Source; Akershus Museum.

You're quite right, Kċre! "Mimoseley's" ancestors were there until 1863, when they moved to Ullensaker.

Quite a few more details on Skauen in the Bygdebok!
(a couple of probates, for instance)

Jan, does the Bygdebok say why they moved away from Skauen?

Hi Marsha.
No probates (Skifte in Norwegian) from Akershus are online exept one from 1683-88.
It occurs that the aouthor of some "bygdebĝker" mentions parts of a probateregister.
To my knowledge based on volunteers the intention is that all probategister, the service started 2009, will be online within a "few" years.
The progress can be followed here here

About public agreenmets reg properties (selling/bying/debt etc) of total 13 milion pages in the archives, ca 7 million pages are online.

Hilsen Kċre

Not directly, but it looks like Gulbrand Nilsen and his wife Maren Hansd Falla got the opportunity to buy a farm in 1863. They moved to Romsċsenga in Ullensaker. You may want to look for them with the children Hans, Kristian and Peder in the 1865-census. Daughter Karolline died small and son Nils (b 1854) was at Sulerud in Sĝrum in 1865.

Your ancestors never owned Skauen, it was a cottager place under Falla and Varċ Bruk. Skauen was however a large place, judging from the size of the rent. (In 1849, 4 spd)
