Thank you. That is fantastic! My relative in Norway will be so happy to learn all of this. Now I hope I can find them in America. |

It also looks like they were travelling with Marius Eriksen, Sørum, see #15.

That is confusing about the two Northwoods. I wonder if the ship manifest had it wrong and it was supposed to be North Dakota!! however, I did find Otto and Carrie Frederickson on the 1900 Northwood , Iowa census. But I browsed the Northwood township Iowa state census for 1905 and found no Eriksons or Fredriksons. Now I'm going to North Dakota!

Interesting detail, the North Dakota Northwood is named after Northwood, Iowa which was the home area for a number of the early settlers in N.D. |

Well, if this entry in the North Dakota Naturalizations database is her, then she had to hop immediately on the train to Grand Forks in order to make the filing date on the record:
Myreng Anne Norway 1st August 15, 1904 Grand Forks D-11 330
Apparently not the Anne in question.... |

I can't believe this!! Thank you!! I wonder why their children used the last name Anderson in 1930! That's strange. I will have to digest all this! I can't thank you enough. I can't wait to tell my relative in Norway. She was an only child and her parents died when she was young. She is now 47 and has no relatives except her husband's family. |

Re 1930 would suggest to examine the actual schedule rather than just the transcription, likley a transcriber's mistake or it's in the schedule a census taker's error.
Well, your relative now has, as the colloquial expression goes, "more relatives than a rat!" |
