Who was Peder Olsen Qvatum´s parents. His father was Ole and he was 36 in 1801.
The 1801 census isn´t always correct when it comes to age.
When it was made the question was; How old are you on your next birthday, which means Peder was born ca 1765-66 pluss minus two years and his mother was widow Beret (Berte) Johansdatter age 69 ,cottager with land and miller on Nøss-eie, a sub farm under Nøss (nr 188831 in the 1801 census above)

A god candidate is Peder Olsen baptised August 23. (Dominica 10 P. Trinity) 1767 in Biri.
Parents Ole Torsen Nøsseie and Berte Johansdatter.
Godparents; Lars and Inger Nøss, Nils and Astri Nøsseie, Mogens "Skoleholder" School teacher.
Left page 2. baptism, Peder underlined here

WOW! Many thanks to all....The following should be the last questions we have..1. Can anyone find a map showing the Gullord farm and how did the farms get their names? 2. Can anyone find Petra's and Henrik's (Henry) [Martin's brother and sister] emigration dates, etc. 3. When was Karen (Even's wife) born and who were her parents? Again, many thanks for your time and effort.

- Gullord: a laudatory name, comes from Gullhøll, Golden hole.
- Qvatum: Grasses and grains that grows fast
- Beitland: Grazing/Pasture land (Same meaning as Vinland)
- Aasen: Hill
- Skarkerud: Noise, probably noise from the river called Skjerka. The ending Rud means to clear the land.
- Sevald: Not sure, perhaps from the old norse name Sivalr, a round mountain.
- Nøss: Næss, a protruding steep rise
- Glæstad: Old norse Gljastadir, to shine, perhaps an old name on a nearby river.
- Svartaasen: Black hill
- Gladstad: Probably from an old norse mans name Gladr, Gladrs stad/sted (place)

If you want to get further back, knock on the door

Interesting that no emigration records are found for Petra and Henrik as they definitely came to America. Could Petra have come under the name of Petra Gladstad? Perhaps something about them will show up. Again, many, many thanks!
