Karl Ludwig Eugen Olson. I have come across a form for permission to travel and the journeys he made. While I can decipher some of the information I can't make it all out. Can I send this image to anyone via email attachment and would you mind helping with reading the info on this form.

Carol sent a scan of the form to me and I have re-typed it to help someone better equipped for the understanding of the language to translate.

This is a seaman's certificate listing 2 of his voyages, plus some identifying biographical and physical description about the certificate holder.

The ship database, if Isploven is the same ship identified there, at the Norsk Maritime museum page is called a bark and was built around 1865.

Not the easiest words to translate
1) Form/Certificate nr 9.
2) Patent officer.
3) Register A nr 332.

5) Muster area (military district.
6) Telvigs legal/juridical area/district.
7) Born Mai 7....in Vanse.
8) Blonde hair, Blue eyes, medium height, has signed session papers.
8-9-10) Proved that he has performed the spesific legal conditions to be mate and have passed the ordinary mate´s exam.
11-12) Grade is not bad, whereupon it is granted that this mate´s certificate entitled to foreign shipping transport.
13) Kristiansand muster area, session management of July 22. 1891
14-15-16) Hans J. Haraldsen, the County governor´s enlistings manager/officer.Recorded in Farsund muster district.
17) A. Renne. Muster/Register official.

The mates are mandatory discharged from age 22-35.
a) As mates or NCOs when they have experience as 1. mate or captain in 12 months in waters where military service is compulsory.
b) Or as sailors.
What a mate as seafarer have to observe is indicated in the shipping book (Søfartsbogen, present Sjøfartsboken)

I would like to know why The mates are mandatory discharged from age 22-35 - what do they do once they are discharged - would that then be the end of their career at sea ?

Proposed full text and different translation:
Styrmænd ere udskrivningspligtige fra det fyldte 22de til det fyldte 35te aar:
a) som Styrmænd eller Underbefalingsmænd, naar de have faret som første- eller some Skibsførere i mindst 12 maaneder paa de farvande, hvortil mønstring er paabuden;
b) i andet fald som matroser.
Hvad en styrmand som søfarende værnepligtig har at iagttage er anført I søfartsbogen.

- which means:
"First mates can be called to render service from their 22nd to their 35th year
a) as Mates or Under-officers when they have sailed as 1st Mates or Shipmasters for at least 12 months in waters where service is called for,
b) in other situations as sailors.
What a Mate in military service should observe is indicated in the book for sailors."
