My Great Grandparents were born in Norway and came to Minnesota in 1879. I cannot find any info on who there parents were, or what ship they came in on or what port they entered. They lived in Rice County, MN and moved to Montana with their son (my Grandfather) Arthur Davidson. I heard they might have lived in Oslo or the city starting with Trom. I heard one of his brothers played in the Oslo Symphony. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Believe or not, there is method to this madness. Most problems of getting to the right place in Norway are solved by information collected in America. You may have had the information but the people who you asked for help on this site didn't have it. Posting it means that all the helpers on this site have access to the basics. So your folks didn't come from either Oslo or Tromso. Lysne is the name of a farm, which is one of the most essential clues to have to unlock where in Norway. All the parish registers from Norway are available online for free to anyone who has internet access.
