Trying to find information on a relative who lived 40-50 years in the USA he was a fisherman and lived in New Bedford MA his name was Svend Svendsen from the Island of Karmøy Norway. Thanks

When was he born? When did he come to the US?

What farm on Karmøy did he have family ties to?

Perhaps a candidate for you. In several other listing of Massachusetts City Directories he is listed as Sven Svensen fisherman. In the census however his birth place is listed as
Sweden and occupation as toolmaker and residence as Attleboro. So they may not be the same person.
