En av mine forfedre emigrerte til USA, han het Johannes Martinus Nilsen Tefre fra Førde, født 30 okt 1854 og er å finne på emigrant lister fra Bergen 1 mai 1889 med America Line, og der stopper alle spor, noen som kan hjelpe?

Hi again and this time in english....
My ancestor, Johannes Martinus Nilsen Tefre, born October 30 1854 in Førde, Norway emigrated to the USA in may 1889, leaving the port of Bergen, Norway on May 1, 1889. He travelled with America Line, and i cant find a trace of him after leaving Norway.

There is a John M Nelson, born about 1854 Norway, single, carpenter who lives in Pope Co. Minnesota in the 1910 and 1920 US censuses. I can only read the immigration year of 1882 in the 1920 census but we already know that date in the census can easily be wrong.
He might be someone you could investigate. |
