Looking for info. on Gunvor Julia Drangsolt born 27 Sep 1862, Ovrebo, Vest-Agder, Norway. Her father was Salve Nilson born 1847, Norway. They were married 21 Jun 1859 in Vennesia Vest-Agder, Norway. Her mother was Anna Olsdatter. Believe they all immigrated and died in the USA.
Wondering if any info. on the family, siblings for Gunvor, grandparents, when they immigrated.
Any info. would be great.

| It must be a typo or else the information for that date is not correct. It was on Ancestry. |

Thank you, Gunvor's christening date is 12 Oct 1862 ,Ovrebo, Vest-Agder, Norway according to the information, I saw.

Confirming Gunvor's birth date, #H83 - and the parents wedding date #8.
Salve Nielsen, Kiile was born April 7 1830, #5 - his parents were Niels Tellefsen, Kiile and Berthe Nielsdatter.
Anne Olsdatter, Høversland was born April 7 1829, #7 - her parents were Ole Olsen, Høversland and Gunvor Pedersdatter.

Ole Olsen, Høversland and Gunvor Pedersdatter, Høversland were married June 30 1817, 2nd record on left page.
Since they both came from Høversland they were most likely on that farm in 1801 - see
Ole Olsen (10) son of Ole Olsen and Anne Olsdatter
Gunvor Pedersdatter (2) daughter of Peder Olsen and Anne Nielsdatter. |

Yes Diane, there are emigration records for Krisitansund of Vest Agder as a transcribed and searchable database for free at the Norwegian Digital archives. Individual parishes also have in-migrating and out-migrating records also.
I did see a Gunvor Olson Drangsholt in the Kristiansund database, age 33, married, headed for Wisconsin, leaving in 1891 with 2 children. This may be her.
It would be nice to have some details on her life in America from that (member submitted?) database at Ancestry. Who were her husband and children? If she was in the 1900 US census (and other censuses as well) there should be an approximate year of migration already known or guessed at.
And then there is the troubling birthdate for Salve in the base. I did see several Salve Nielsen in US records, mostly with a birthyear of approximately 1848. Are there any sources for the information in the database? |

Gunvor Olsdatter Drangsholt who emigrated Sept. 18 1891, was born approx 1858 and was married to Ole Olsen. She emigrated from Tveit through Kristiansand (not Kristiansund) with two sons, Ole and Oscar (born 1890).
The Gunvor Julia Drangsolt asked for in this topic was born 1862 - could they be two different persons?

I'll guarantee that it would be exceedingly difficult for a woman born 1773 to be the mother of someone born in 1890. (Kristiansund and Kristiansand two different places which I get confused if I'm only relying on memory)

And what I'm getting at about Salve is that perhaps someone has mistakenly drawn the conclusion that Salve Nielsen / Nelson etc b. abt 1848 found in US records is Gunvor's father rather than it being just a typo. That's why I'm curious about information about Gunvor in US records. |

Sorry for misreading the emigration record. Gunvor emigrated Sept 18 1891 - born approx 1858 then.

Went and checked the info. at ancestry, Gunvor married Olaf Gerhard Gunderson in 1891, in the US, according to a 1900 US Census. So, she was single when she came over. They resided in 1900 in Equality, Red Lake Minnesota. I do not know if all the family of Gunvor's came or not. Olaf was born in the USA.
A great granddaughter of Gunvor said she'd like to find out, when Gunvor immigrated to the US. She thinks it was 1881 or 1882 but not sure. She could not find the date of Gunvor's immigration arrival to the States.
Would it be possible for you to find the immigration date for me? It would be nice to know for sure.
