Thank you so much. Would you happen to know if there is a way to look up people in Vaida Guba? I cant seem to find Laura Sofie Lindseth anywhere in the 1900 or any records for Alma Otlile, Johanna Ovidie Ingilae or Erik Ingilae from Vaida guba other than Laura sofies baptism. .

The most likely thing is that the records of Vaida Guba, if they exist, will be in Russia, not Norway.
The Germans from Russia, who were also invited by the Czarina and Czars to come to the Black Sea / Ukraine areas of Russia, have some records from their time in Russia available. So it is possible that records from Vaida Guba could also exist.
I did look through the utflyttes from Vardĝ registers on line and there were a few families going to Vaida Guba--although I didn't see any with a Johanne in the years between 1866-1872.
I did email a local German from Russia expert, thinking his experience with that heritage's records might be similar to Norwegians from Russia but he was unable to assist. I wonder does any Norwegian archive collect records on Norwegians in other places in Europe, like Russia? |

Hi, Jamie! (Hope you can read my bad English and spelling). What you write about Laura Lindseth is very interesting for me. My interest for Laura goes from she arrived to USA until she married 2. time. Does your granmother knows anything about her 1. marriage with Terkelsen? When were your granmother born? Are your granmother daugther of the man from Pourto Rico? I whrite from Denmark. Hope you can give me a little! Lars C. |
