As said in the other thread Berta Marie resided near Paulina in O'Brien County Iowa.

What do you mean by "Find the farm"? That's a question I've never seen applied to US inquiries.

You'd probably have to study older county plat maps to find an exact location of a farm. Those are not commonly dealt with on genealogy related message boards. You might contact and/or join any local historical societies or genealogical societies in O'Brien County for the "Tow/Towe" farm and whichever county Endre owned land in.

The Endre Endresen who traveled back and forth so much was NOT from Skudenes. That Endre was from Sveen and he had a cousin named Sivert Nordskog who lived in Story Co. IA.

You could do an Internet search with any Internet search engine for OBrien Iowa and you should get links that will let you see where it is, what societies might be located there, any websites of interest to you about it.

To look in the censuses (the federal and many done by the state of Iowa) use the free databases at
familysearch.org
That is the same website I would use and you obviously have more information about who it is that you are looking for. Andrew Tow?? Had you mentioned him above at all? Since you probably know when those two persons were born and other information you'll be better able to do the searching yourself.

I haven't seen any evidence that your Endre Grodem ever owned any land in the US. The bygdebok for Skudenes makes it appear that he was born, married only once and died in Norway. You have other information that was shown where?

That's the SAME record I gave you days ago.

That is a remarkable near perfect match to her birthday as listed in Norwegian records -- OF COURSE it is her.

The brothers Larsen of Tau also have a family tree online and although the Grodem sisters names are spelled oddly -- they appear. Later American spellings of their name usually were Tow or Towe.

So did Berta Marie Grødem and Inger Johanne Grødem marry two brothers Larsen of Tau then,do you have a link to that family tree, this is quite remarkable because I was told by relatives that they thought that Berta Marie did'nt have any children, but here in the cencus they have 6-7.
