We live to be surprized by our ancestors!

This Andrew Tow in 1900 census?

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M9LQ-B5F

Okay Andrew L. Tow in 1895 Iowa state census:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VTQ4-VPV

Andrew was listed as single in the 1900 census but is married for about 2 years in the 1910 census to 42year old Grodeen.

Before the Larsen Tau brothers (later Tow/Towe) lived in O'Brien County Iowa they lived in Benton Co. Iowa. Benton Co. was one of the earlier locations where Norwegian emigrants often spent some time.

Syver Larsen Tau married Berte Marie Endresdtr Grodheim in Benton County -- so do NOT discount findings from there. They each were identified with a number of Americanized names after they emigrated.

Are you unable to use the free databases at FamilySearch.org website??? I do not understand why you seem unable to do any searching in those records or at least the indexes for them. The website is free and open for anyone with Internet access.

I can't give a working link to that marriage info. It was unsourced but stated that they married 14 March 1883 in Vinton, Benton Co., Iowa.

Family Search has absolutely free and open information - a HUGE amount of information which you can access from anywhere, anytime. But they are now adding what they call FamilyTree files and for those you have to sign in and be accepted for a FamilySearch account. The marriage info was in a FamilyTree file there and the names were horribly mispelled.
